The Argentine Dogos ancestry includes the now extinct mastiff-type breed called the Dog of Cordoba, The Great Dane, Boxer, Spanish Mastiff, Bulldog, Bull Terrier, Great Pyrenees, Pointer, Irish Wolfhound and Dogue de Bordeaux, and possibly up to 10 other breeds. Argentine Dogos are used for hunting as well as family guardians and are used in military and police work. They are classified in the working category of dogs. The coat is short and is colored white with no spots of any color. The average argentine dogo weighs about 90 lbs. and is 26 inches tall at the shoulder. The ears are cropped or may be left natural.
